Why do some patients come so late for their appointments and still expect to be treated causing a schedule conflict with another patient who has come on time for their appointment?

Some would call 5-10 mins before their scheduled appointment to cancel their visit.

Some would not even bother to inform if she/he will be coming or not.

No matter how efficient your secretary is in confirming appointments, some patients do not have any respect for the clinic's time schedule.

In some countries, there is a fee for missed appointments. Cancellation or postponement must be made 1-2 days before the appointment, otherwise it is considered as a missed appointment.

Some patients simply do not understand that a missed appointment is already a big loss to the office because each chairtime has a corresponding overhead expense.

I think patients should be well informed on this issue.
